Artist Statement

My piece of the water color landscape was inspired by my constant trips to the beach. This piece was a little different to me because of the new use of the watercolor paint. I would do watercolor paint again just to get more experience and better at it. During the creation of this piece I had some back runs and too much water or too much paint at certain times. I used multiple techniques like wet on wet to blend colors easier and wet on dry to blend add very fine details and along with masking fluid to hold the white in my piece.

In my grid drawing I picked this because it seemed like an easy but kind of challenging picture. The piece is of Katniss Everdeen the piece did take me a little while to make, but the piece turned out better than I expected because I never thought I could draw but after it I realized I know I'm not the best but it gave me more experience. This piece has some flaws from me accidentally smearing things with my hand and overworking the paper

My piece of the white basketball reflection and court and the ball on the black paper was one of the easiest things to do. This piece kind of looks upside down but it's a reflection of a goal on a puddle. My piece was motivated by the old love and dedication I had to basketball in middle school I will never lose love for any sport. To create this piece I used a black paper with white color pencil to bring emphasis to the picture. The picture was easy only hard part was the backboard and the texture for the court.

My 3D calligraphy art of the deer was one of my easiest pieces to create and my favorite. This piece really looks good and 3D like it's off the page it took me a little while to decide how I wanted it to be on the paper. My inspiration was from a picture I saw online and my house in the woods. This piece has the easiest materials I created this with paper and colored pencils.

My piece of martin Luther King Jr. was not really inspired by anything it just symbolizes my thankfulness to have integration of everything. Martin Luther Kind Jr. stood for more than people think. My piece was made easily I just had a difficult time drawing his face and the hands below him.

In my acrylic painting I was influenced of the intriguing colors of the blood moon on the sea water. I ran into problems like accidentally blending and smearing and not enough layers. Overall this piece turned out better in my head but it was good for my first time. I accidentally blended colors wrong on my palette which made obstacles but more determination to fix it.

My elements of art and principles of design project was influenced by the multiple times watching Tom and Jerry when I was little. I made the piece which looks pretty good but it looks like I made the bottom right corner wrong. I made the bottom right corner colorful like a child colored it because of the child’s show. This piece I didn’t really have problems.

My 2 way perspective is one of my favorite pieces it came out so much better than I thought. It was inspired by the talent of my teachers 2 way perspective and they look so real and 3D and intriguing. I experienced accidental smearing with my hand when drawing. I later realized the smearing looked good like value and light and shade on the picture.

My tiki sculpture of Ku the god of war was inspired by the fierce and intimidating look after being shown other pieces like him. The piece didn't turn out like expected but that's fine. I did run into problems like him breaking in half and some parts being to thin or some being too heavy it was a stressful process but I do like it for what it came to be after all of it.
